Mrs. Justus

We are so excited and blessed to have a student teacher in our classroom this year. I would like for you to give a big welcome to Jennifer Justus. She will begin taking over subject by subject under my direction until she is teaching full time. I hope you are all as excited as I am to have this extra help in our class.

Blubber...

This week we learned all about the polar bear. Part of our learning was to find out how they stayed warm in the cold arctic. Did you know that polar bears have a layer of fat called blubber? This blubber is what helps them to stay warm. We used ice, Ziploc bags, and fat :) to see how blubber works. The ice was very cold on our hand that did not go inside the package of blubber but the hand that was inside stayed nice and warm. So those of you that freeze all the time might need a little more blubber. ha ha

We also celebrated Janice for winning our Global Character Award Knowledgeable for the month of January.

Welcome 2017!

Today we welcomed in 2017. We read the story Squirrel's New Year's Resolutions by Pat Miller and learned what a New Years resolution was. We watched the ball drop and yelled "Happy New Year" while blowing our horns. Next, we drew ourselves and wrote some New Year's resolutions of our own. What a fun and eventful day today was in Kindergarten.
